In my life: Fall is here!

Mother nature has been gracing us with some fall-like weather here. Or, at least as close as it we're probably going to get. Despite the low 80s temps during the day, we're getting chilly evenings and cloudy mornings, and more excuses to bring out the big blankets and curl up by the fireplace, or in our case the faux-place.

Fall seems to get everyone in the mood to start making things. I've caught the bug too and I'm decorating the house with fall colors and squash and pumpkins (we scored 9lbs of acorn and butternut squash for $4 at a pumpkin patch with our friends!). And we're cooking up the squash as we go. Soup #44 should be up on the blog soon and it's a definitely autumnal (yes, I just used that in a sentence).

That wreath up there is another product of this urge to make things. I saw this tutorial last year and thought it was neat but never got around to it. But this year I really thought we needed a seasonal wreath...so why not DIY it.  It was super easy and it looks really pretty on the door!

I've also been working on a quilted table runner for our coffee table. I got hooked on Elise's GETQUILTYeCOURSE and I'm already nearing the end of this first project. I'm making up for lost time with my sewing machine and getting to know it more and more each day. I can't wait to see (and share with you!) what the finished runner will look like... and then dive into the next project! It's all super exciting and I'm excited to see where it all leads!

In the mean time we are just about caught up with our soups! I am happy to say that a few friends have tried some of our recent recipes...that's so cool! If you've tried one of ours, please let us know, we'd love to hear from you!

XO
