Return of In My Life: Currently

Good morning!  It's hardly 8am right now as I am writing this. I've completed 4 thank you's already this morning, getting ready for my second cup of coffee and I feel fully awake. This is weird. Or at least not normal for me. Or maybe it's a new normal? Lately I've found that I wake up when E gets up and dressed for work in the morning. It's not an obnoxious why did you wake me up sort of feeling though, I just...wake up. After he leaves I lie there and try to fall back asleep, think about falling asleep, and then, when nothing happens, I figure that I might as well get up and do something.

So here I am. Hello.  I thought that, being Wednesday and all, I might bring back the weekly "In My Life: Currently" posts. And I think these are always more exciting with pictures to go along. If you follow me on instagram, you might have seen these before, but well, sorry.

Reading:  Still working on "Tigers in Red Weather" which I was addicted to poolside on our honeymoon. Unfortunately, I think I lost my Nook charger on our way home, and I haven't been able to read it since. I'm hoping to get back into it, as it's really gripping and such an interesting web of characters.  So in the meantime, I am indulging in Real Simple magazine...a lovely subscription gift from my mama to keep me up to date with housekeeping and kitchen how-tos and know-how.  Love.

Watching: Gilmore girls. Literally, right now. I love this show. It's hard to believe how long this show has been in my life, the ups the downs, and I still watch, excited and relating on so many levels. Such a good show. In other news, I have officially seen every episode ever of How I Met Your Mother and I think that deserves some sort of award, right?

Listening:  To lots of Christmas music. Thank you to KOST1035 FM for keeping us holly and jolly since before Thanksgiving. It was so awesome to get in the car after work the first day of Christmas on the KOST and hear those carols. I love Christmas, and I love getting in the spirit.

Cooking and Baking:  (I thought that this would be a good addition to this post since I'm all wifely now and cooking). See all the yummy foods in my pictures. The first was the day after Thanksgiving, E made me some scrumptious eggs and basterma (cured Armenian meat) in a cute heart shape with biscuits and gravy. Then yesterday, in an attempt to clear the fridge of some (more!) leftovers, I made a turkey pot pie!  It was so yummy, and surprisingly easy to make. But best of all was seeing it come out of the oven looking so perfect and flaky. If you want a quick and easy recipe, watch this video here from Working Class Foodies. P.S. Did you see our awesome "COOK" sign over our stove??

Thinking: about Christmas gift ideas. It's so hard to think of things to buy when you're sitting at home, and before  you actually make a list of who to buy things for.  I'm also thinking that I don't want this to get in the way of what Christmas is really all about - LOVE (and not gifts).

Looking forward:  to lots of things! The whole season, really. Christmas parties, my cousin Madi's holiday music concert, getting our first Christmas tree, and everything that comes in between. On the short term, I am looking forward to date with my mom to get our nails done and get some shopping done!

It's still early and there are cards to write and I'm in the mood to put those mushy banana's to use and make some banana bread with chocolate chips and walnuts! :)

XOXX

As far as gifts go... make a list, check it twice and then bake us some banana bread with chocolate chips and walnuts for our gift... all we need is your love... and your banana bread with chocolate chips and walnuts! =:)

  6. I found it, over time hard to get on a new wake up regiment once marriage set in. I used to always have my alarm set for an hour before I had to leave with some up beat music and listen all the way until I was dressed and ready for the day. But A's schedule was very different, ok more like opposite (30 mins before work; shower and go). However, I have learned A is a deep sleeper, so some days I still do my dance awake up, usually in the girls room to wake up my big girl!
